La Pobla de Segur hosts the second edition of the Vianda Gastronomic Vianda

The second edition of the festival grows by programming an activity for professionals on Thursdays and incorporating new features in the gastro-festival day on Saturday.

The chef of the Cuines program on TV3 and winner of the Masterchef contest, Arnau Paris, will demonstrate a wham, bam, recipe with the best companions for hamburgers.

The City Council of La Pobla de Segur has everything prepared to celebrate this weekend the second edition of the Vianda Gastronomic Festival, a day that will initially and as a novelty will be two. The festival starts on Thursday, September 21 with a workshop aimed at professionals in which the Catalan chef Ada Parellada will cook with four hands with chefs from Pallars. The councilor for economic promotion of the City Council, Josep Maria Tirbió, gives more details of this novelty: “Since the birth of the festival we were clear that professionals in the sector should also have space and that is why, with the collaboration of the Al Teu Gust, aliments del Pallars program, we have organized this technical day that we want to be beneficial for the restaurateurs of the region. In this way, Vianda goes beyond the weekend and takes a first step towards its growth, also in line with the professionals in the sector”.

Saturday, the highlight of the Festival arrives. The Department of Economic Promotion of the City Council has prepared a program of activities that revolves around local products and, especially, beef and hamburguers, and that pairs them with other activities such as a play (Llepafils, from the company Teatre al Detall) different musical performances (Celobert, Cris i Dami and Crazy Rockets) and a culinary demonstration by Arnau Paris, owner of Molí de la Vansa, chef of the TV3 program Cuines and winner of the ninth edition of Masterchef, from RTVE.

After the success it had last year in the first edition, at 8pm the Espai Brasa will reopen, where the meat producers of La Pobla will bring the hamburgers they have made for the occasion. The audience will buy them raw and cook them directly on the grill. This year, they can also accompany the burger with organic goat cheese.

The second edition of the Vianda Gastronomic Festival does not lose the essence or its reason for being and will continue to offer all local products. Tirbió tells us more news: “When the first edition ended we saw clearly that Vianda also had to offer vegetarian and vegan products and that is why this year, for both lunch and dinner, we will have a restaurant and a producer who works in this kitchen.”

The Vianda Gastronomic Festival is included in the CordeVi cycle, and has the collaboration of the Al Teu Gust program, food in Pallars; the Pallars Jussà Regional Council, the Institute for the Development and Promotion of the Alt Pirineu i Aran and the Lleida Provincial Council.
