Inauguration of the exhibition “Churches, chapels and hermitages of La Terreta”, in the library

The exhibition “Churches, chapels and hermitages of La Terreta. 1400 years of history” that during this month of November you can see in the Municipal Library, counted last Friday with the inaugural conference of the author of the research on the heritage of this natural subregion.

La Terreta, even being about ten kilometers in straight line from La Pobla de Segur, is a true unknown to us because the road network has always made it difficult to communicate with the north of our region. The space between the Sant Gervàs mountain range and the Noguera Ribagorçana includes the villages of the old municipalities of Sapeira and Espluga de Serra.

After the welcome by the Councilor for Culture, Ramon Enric Guimó, Manel Gimeno, a student of the contemporary history of our lands, introduced Dr. Lluís Colomés i Figuera, associate professor of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Rovira I Virgili University and a very member of the Fem Terreta Association, which enthusiastically watches over the heritage of this contrada.

Lluís Colomés showed and explained in detail and graphically some of the main ones of the 74 temples documented in the Terreta and invited the attendees to create more ties between the Terreta and the other land of Pallares.
