Walled and old town
La Pobla was a walled village in the middle ages but, nowadays, it only preserves its two entrances called portal d’Orteu and Portal de Parrau, the Major Street and Llorenç i Torres Street and two ancient mansions: Casa Orteu and Casa Berenguer. The old city center was extended to the Raval neighbourhood and the d’Oran street, which was the only way to leave the village to the north until 1887, when the Gerri de la Sal road was built.
